About
Brenda is from Toledo, Ohio where her family still resides. She is a third generation lawyer in the Ray family. Brenda's great-grandfather, Edward H. Ray, was an attorney in Toledo, who was admitted to practice law in Ohio in 1895. He practiced law through the Great Depression, representing one of the Toledo based banks during that time. He was the attorney who formed Highland Meadows Golf Club in 1925, and he also formed and worked with other anchor Toledo companies and institutions. His daughter, Elena Ray Diller, and her husband, Wade Diller, met in law school at Ohio Northern University and both began practicing in 1934. Wade and Elena were known to be the only husband and wife attorneys practicing together in Toledo, and Elena was the last of them to practice until 1994. She was honored as the longest practicing woman attorney in Ohio, having practiced for 60 years, and she carried on the family's law practice providing 99 years of continuous legal services to the Toledo community. Brenda is honored that her practice has allowed the family's dedication to providing legal services in Toledo, Ohio to span over 100 years. The family gave Brenda the firm's law books and other momentos from the family's law office which are displayed throughout her home and office.
